about

Alisa grew up in the coastal city of Niigata, raised by a British-Italian mother and a Japanese father. Her English education came with a generous helping of British and American films, which quietly planted the seeds for a future in filmmaking.

Determined to pursue her passion, Alisa saved up to attend Visual Arts Osaka, where she studied filmmaking. Her graduation project, Parasite (no, not that one), earned the IMAGICA WEST Award.

She directed her first feature film, One wa Tsuraiyo, while working at a production company in Osaka. Longing for an adventure, she quit her job to attend Tallinn Summer School in Estonia, where she wrote and directed the short, The Local

Dedicated to hands-on storytelling, Alisa shoots, edits, and directs her own work, always looking for new ways to express meaning through images.
